Join Heather Segale (UC Davis outreach and educator) as she walks you through the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center describing their research on Lake Tahoe. Also she will detail history of the Lake Tahoe fishery and changes to the food web. After that head to the town of Truckee where you will meet local California State Parks environmental manager Dan Shaw. Dan will guide you to the Lake Tahoe Rim Dam. After your visit to the dam you will take a scenic drive around the rugged West Shore of the lake and stop at the Taylor Creek visitor center to see the kokanee salmon run just outside South Lake Tahoe. A variety of sandwiches, chips, and drinks will be provided and are included with the cost of the trip – $50 for transportation and lunch costs.
